This is Lurch, the proud bearer of the world’s largest horns. Lurch is a Watusi bull living in an Animal shelter, whose horns measure 92.25 cm and weigh more than 100 pounds each. He’s quite the attraction in his home state and he’s favorite pass-time is acting as bodyguard for a crippled horse that’s being harassed by fellow horses. (Source)
The Firefly Squid is a bioluminescent squid growing to a length of only three inches. The squid is equipped with special light-producing organs called photophores that emit a deep blue light.
Large photophores can be found on the tips of the tentacles as well as around the eyes. Thousands of tiny photophores can be found throughout the squid’s body, giving it the ability to emit light along its entire form. In the Toyama Bay, in the central Japan Sea, the squid are found in fantastic abundance. (Source)

Ghost Shark egg cases from Tasmania resemble a kelp frond. Ghost sharks swim as deep 220 meters, and forage in the shallows at dusk.
These tombs were carved into the natural granite stone headland more than a thousand years ago. These six graves were for people of special importance. The site is a scheduled ancient monument, and is believed to have first been inhabited by humans 12,000 years ago.
Freckles, small accumulations of melanin or pigment, appear anywhere on the skin and sometimes in the eye, accounting for the majority of eye spots.
In most cases, an eye freckle can only be seen by an opthalmologist. This is especially true if the freckle occurs inside the colored portion, or the iris, of the eye. When the freckle appears on the sclera, or white part of the eye, it shows up as a brown spot. (Source)
Farmers in Japan have created pentagon-shaped fruits. The iyokan citrus fruits or Gokaku no Iyokan were handed out as a good luck charm for students in the upcoming entrance exam season in Yawatahama, Ehime. Gokaku no Iyokan also means sweet smell of success in exams. (Source)
