Fake documentaries or mockumentaries is a parody presented as a documentary recording real life.

Here are top 5 that I found interesting.

Mermaid: The Body Found: Aired on animal plant and it tells the story of a scientific team’s efforts to investigate the body of an unidentified marine body. They use the aquatic ape hypothesis as evidence that mermaids exist. 

Megalodon: The Giant Shark Lives: Megalodon is a GIGANTIC prehistoric shark (that’s the truth and to get a picture of how BIG it is, look at this) but the discovery channel released a documentary in the beginning of shark week in 2013 about how it’s still alive and swimming around.

The Baby Formula: about how a lesbian couple each become pregnant with the other’s baby through an experimental stem cell procedure that created artificial sperm from their DNA

The Tunnel: a documentary style horror film on how a group explores the abandoned underground tunnel in Australia 

Incident at Loch Ness: a camera crew follows around a filmmaker in his attempt to make his own documentary about the Loch ness Monster.
